The proprietary professional title Toxicologists are involved in the detection and in the characterization of current and potential hazards and risks which can be caused by harmful effects of chemical substances, particles and biological agents on living organisms and eco systems. Thereby, the correlations between harmful effects of substances and their doses, the duration of influence, mode of action, risk of effective exposure, prevention and treatment of poisonings are investigated

Our society has already well-versed scientists at the universities and graduated toxicologists (MSc Tox) with international certification from EUROTOX as "European Registered Toxicologist", ERT. EUROTOX (European Societies of Toxicology) is the association of national toxicological societies in Europe comprising more than 7,000 members and providing inter alia for consistently high standards in education. "European Registered Toxicologists" have to perform − after their academic studies − many years of practical and theoretical training and to educate themselves continuously in their professional field.
