The aims of ASTOX are
- promote toxicology by research and continuing professional development
- facilitate information exchange amongst various fields of toxicology and related disciplines
- register qualified toxicologists
- follow toxicological developments nationally and internationally
- foster education in toxicology in Austria
- organize lectures, meetings, seminars and conferences
- establish a national register including the provision of legal expertise
- provide information and consultation to the general public
- identify national toxicological issues and suggesting solutions
- cooperate with other relevant societies nationally and internationally
